The ASCEND program is a significant initiative by Southern Company aimed at transforming business operations and enhancing customer experience through technology modernization. This program involves implementing multiple applications, including replacing the existing meter data management (MDM) and customer service systems (CSS) with a new Oracle customer information system (CIS) called customer to meter (C2M). Additionally, it includes the implementation of an advanced analytics platform, a customer experience (CX) platform, and a commercial engagement platform (CEP). This new platform will be rolled out in phases to Alabama Power, Georgia Power, and Mississippi Power. An ASCEND organization is being established to support the electric operating companies in achieving a modernized, efficient, and digital customer experience, enabling deeper customer engagement and personalized interactions. This initiative is recognized as one of the most comprehensive Customer Service and Marketing transformation efforts in the company's history. The successful candidate will be an employee of the operating company but report to the CIS/MDM Program Team, with potential reporting to a SCS or operating company leader for delivery. Positions will be filled based on job requirements, business needs, and project scope. This role is expected to be hybrid, with approximately 25% travel anticipated, and preference is given to candidates located within the electric service territory.
