NyxGlobal Security Service is actively hiring professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers for residential, commercial, retail, and corporate locations throughout Northern Virginia (Sterling, Reston, Herndon, Tysons Corner, Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax and surrounding areas).

In this role, you will be the frontline guardian, ensuring the safety of personnel, visitors, and property through vigilant observation, proactive engagement, and excellent customer service. Duties

• Monitor entrances, exits, lobbies, and common areas
• Conduct regular patrols of the property to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
• Verify the identity of visitors, contractors, and employees to ensure authorized access.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies by following established protocols and communicating effectively with emergency responders when necessary.
• Enforce facility policies related to loss prevention, conflict management, and safety procedures.
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations to ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Assist in training or mentoring new team members on security procedures and best practices.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and contact police/fire/EMS when needed
• Maintain professional appearance and punctual attendance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior security and/or Law Enforcement experience preferred
• Valid Security Officer License (DCJS)
• Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Reliable transportation
• Must pass background screening
• Must be authorized to work in the United States

Experience

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of surveillance technology such as CCTV systems enhances your ability to monitor effectively.
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred to support emergency response efforts.
• Strong conflict management skills enable you to handle challenging situations professionally and calmly.
• Familiarity with loss prevention strategies helps protect assets and reduce theft or vandalism incidents.
