Yoh has an exciting, contract opportunity for multiple Technical Writers to join our Aerospace & Defense client in Frisco, TX. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who live within a commutable distance to the site and thrive in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
The Technical
Writer will spend significant time on the production floor partnering with engineering and manufacturing teams to capture processes and translate them into structured, user-friendly documentation.

Title: Technical Writer
Location: Frisco, TX
Compensation: $35-$40/hour, flexible depending on experience level
Type: Contract (potential to extend or convert based on performance and business needs)
Industry: Aerospace / Defense
Eligibility: Must be a U.S. Person (ITAR environment) Responsibilities:
Develop and formalize detailed work instructions and operational procedures for a high-priority product line, with potential to expand support to additional programs
Create documentation from the ground up while also refining and standardizing existing materials
Capture mechanical assembly, electrical integration, and flight system processes directly from subject matter experts
Partner closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure technical accuracy and completeness
Translate complex build and integration workflows into structured, easy-to-follow documentation
Conduct documentation gap analyses and implement improvements to drive clarity and consistency
Maintain document control, version tracking, and structured updates within internal systems
Organize and manage content within collaboration and documentation platforms (e.g., Confluence, MES environments)
Support process improvement initiatives by aligning documentation with evolving operational best practices
Qualifications & Requirements:
3 years of experience in technical writing, process documentation, or related role
Demonstrated experience creating work instructions and standard operating procedures in a manufacturing or engineering setting
Strong ability to distill complex mechanical and electrical processes into clear, concise documentation
Experience working cross-functionally with engineers, technicians, and production teams
High attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and gaps in technical content
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documentation priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with documentation management or collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence or similar platforms)
Preferred Experience:
Background in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100 or ISO frameworks
Experience supporting documentation within production execution or manufacturing systems
Exposure to change management and document control processes
Physical Demands:
Ability to work onsite in a production and manufacturing environment for extended periods
Frequent walking between engineering offices and the production floor
Standing for prolonged periods while observing and documenting processes
Ability to comply with all facility safety requirements, including use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
