Job Summary
This role involves working as a Summer Intern responsible for supporting the Enterprise Applications Products and Services department and other organizations across the enterprise in developing AI prototypes and exploring emerging technologies. The intern will be responsible for documenting use cases, findings, and process workflows to support departmental initiatives. The role also contributes to the organization’s responsible AI efforts by assisting in the evaluation and communication of ethical and risk considerations.
This position will be Hybrid Flexbile.
Job Responsibilities
Assignments will include working alongside professionals in the following areas:
- Assist in developing and testing prototypes to support innovative AI solutions
- Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies and industry trends
- Document use cases, workflows, and key findings for internal knowledge sharing
- Support the implementation and promotion of responsible and ethical AI practices within the organization
Job Specific Qualifications
- The successful candidate(s) must be actively pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology, AI or Computer Science and graduating between December 2026 and May 2029. Students graduating in May/June 2026 are not eligible unless they are enrolling in a post-graduate degree program in the fall term of 2026. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. Candidates must have completed freshman level course work for consideration.
- Strong technical proficiency in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Programming experience with languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, SQL, or similar.
- Hands-on experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, or comparable platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to self‑start, learn new technical concepts quickly, and work independently when needed.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Detail‑oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both IT and business teams in a collaborative environment.
- Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
Desired:
- 3.0 GPA
- AI-related certifications and hands-on experience in developing AI agents or similar applied AI projects.
