This role will provide advanced engineering expertise, drive innovation, establish engineering best practices, and lead the development of highly complex products from concept through global mass production. The Staff Mechanical Design Engineer will influence product architecture, mentor engineering teams, and collaborate across functions to deliver industry-leading solutions.</span></p><h2><span><b>Key Responsibilities</b></span></h2><ul><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Lead the mechanical architecture and design strategy for complex product platforms and next-generation technologies.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Provide technical leadership across multiple product development programs.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Drive innovation in product design, materials, manufacturing technologies, and reliability improvements.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Lead advanced engineering analyses including FEA, thermal assessments, vibration analysis, and tolerance optimization.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Establish and champion DFM, DFA, Design-to-Cost, <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Design-for-Reliability,</span> and <span style="overflow-wrap: break-word; display: inline; text-decoration: inherit; hyphens: auto;">Design-for-Serviceability</span> methodologies.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Review and approve critical engineering designs and technical decisions.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Lead system-level design reviews and risk assessments.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Develop validation strategies and ensure comprehensive verification of product performance and reliability.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Partner with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams to achieve successful production launches.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Lead root cause analysis and resolution of complex technical challenges.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Drive long-term cost reduction and product optimization initiatives.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Mentor and develop engineering talent within the organization.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Influence technology roadmaps, engineering standards, and development processes.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Support executive-level technical discussions and customer engagements as needed.</span></span></li></ul><h2><span><b>Qualifications</b></span></h2><ul><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>10+ years of progressive mechanical product development experience.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Demonstrated success leading complex products through the full development lifecycle and mass production.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Advanced expertise in mechanical design, FEA, materials engineering, reliability, and manufacturing processes (high volume stamping & roll forming).</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Strong understanding of global manufacturing operations and supplier development.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Proven ability to lead technical decision-making across multidisciplinary teams.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills.</span></span></li></ul><h2><span><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></span></h2><ul><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Experience developing power electronics, energy storage systems, power conversion equipment, renewable energy products, or industrial systems.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Experience influencing engineering strategy and technology roadmaps.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Track record of delivering products at scale with aggressive cost, quality, and schedule targets.</span></span></li><li style="color:black !important"><span style="color:#000000"><span>Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams.</span></span></li></ul><p><span style="color:#000000"><span style="font-size:14px">At Nextpower, we are driving the global energy transition with an integrated clean energy technology platform that combines intelligent structural, electrical, and digital solutions for utility-scale power plants.
