Software Engineer, Game UI - League Of Legends [Remote]

<p> Riot engineers bring deep knowledge of specific technical areas but also value the chance to work in many broader domains. As a software engineer, you'll also dive into projects that focus on team cohesiveness and cross-team goals. You'll lead without authority and provide other engineers with a clear illustration of extraordinary engineering.<br /> <br /> As a Software Engineer on the League of Legends Alternate Play Modes team, you will help build and maintain player-facing UI and gameplay systems that support new and evolving game modes in the League ecosystem. You will report to the team's Senior Engineering Manager and work in a hybrid environment from our Los Angeles office.<br /> <br /> Responsibilities:<br /> <br /> • Implement UI and player-facing gameplay features in support of League of Legends game modes<br /> • Collaborate with engineers, designers, artists, and product partners to build features that deliver clear player value<br /> • Contribute to technical discovery and prototyping to help reduce ambiguity in a problem space<br /> • Participate in team rituals, code reviews, and software maintenance processes<br /> • Participate in on-call and live support rotations<br /> <br /> Required Qualifications:<br /> <br /> • 2+ years of professional experience in game development with C++<br /> • Experience collaborating across disciplines (e.g. Design, Art, QA, Production)<br /> • Experience implementing software engineering best practices within your team, including design reviews, coding standards, code reviews, and testing<br /> • Product sense, pragmatism, and player empathy in making tech decisions<br /> • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience<br /> <br /> Desired Qualifications:<br /> <br /> • Experience building UI or UX features in games or other interactive products<br /> • Experience working with game engines such as Unreal or Unity<br /> • Familiarity with Agentic AI assisted development<br /> • Experience playing League of Legends or strong motivation to learn and play<br /> <br /> For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players.
