Senior iOS Engineer, Crypto Trading

About the position

The Crypto Pro Trading team builds the advanced trading experience for Robinhood's most active crypto investors, powering features like real-time charting, order book visualization, and sophisticated order types across iOS. You'll work at the intersection of high-performance UI and low-latency data, ensuring traders can act on market movements in seconds. Our work directly shapes how serious crypto traders engage with the platform, from spot trading to futures and beyond. As a Senior iOS Engineer on the Crypto Pro Trading team, you'll design and build high-performance trading interfaces that handle real-time market data, complex order flows, and rich charting experiences for Robinhood's most engaged crypto users. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and backend engineers to ship features that raise the bar on speed, reliability, and usability for professional-grade trading on mobile. Beyond feature work, you'll help define technical direction, mentor engineers on the team, and drive architectural decisions that scale with the product. This role is based in our New York, NY or Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable iOS application architecture that supports advanced crypto trading experiences used by Robinhood's most active investors
• Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive pro-grade trading tools on mobile
• Improve application performance, real-time data handling, observability, and release stability across core crypto trading workflows
• Lead technical planning and provide guidance during system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution efforts for high-stakes trading features
• Mentor iOS engineers through code reviews, technical feedback, and structured development support while contributing to engineering standards and documentation

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications
• Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS development frameworks
• Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies — particularly for data-intensive or real-time use cases
• Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners to deliver customer-focused technical solutions
• Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform improvements
• Clear communication skills and ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences
• This position is restricted to US citizens or lawful permanent residents
