About the Role:
Our client is seeking a dedicated Police Department Dispatcher to join their team in Miami Gardens, FL. This full-time role plays a crucial part in public safety by efficiently managing emergency and non-emergency calls. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to serving the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate police radio systems, radio recorders, and computer terminals.
Dispatch police personnel and equipment in response to emergency calls.
Receive and process calls for police services, providing accurate and timely information.
Conduct periodic tests of communication systems to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: High school diploma, vocational school graduate, or GED equivalent, supplemented by business school courses in typing, data processing, and office procedures.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience in a police and/or fire telecommunications center or equivalent.
Certification:Florida Department of Health Certification for Emergency Dispatching required.
Training: Must complete all required training, including National Incident Management System (NIMS) training.
License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, maintained throughout employment.
Availability: Must be available to work all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Screening Process: Candidates must successfully pass a polygraph examination and an extensive background check.
