Summary:
The position of Delivery Driver is primarily responsible for preparing and delivering product orders for our customers in the NY/NJ Metro area. We need someone who is able to help out in all areas – not just driving – to ensure our customer’s goods get out of the warehouse fast, arrive on time, safely, and that we identify and report any issues we have along the way that impact our company or our customers.
The Deliver Driver is an essential function within our warehouse and customer service teams. Our Drivers are the face of our brand for many of our local customers and we need people who take that responsibility seriously.
Responsibilities Include:
Delivery and pickup involves’ making deliveries and pick-ups in the most efficient, economical manner possible
Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections.
Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Unload merchandise according to customers’ requests.
Physically secures cargo for transport using appropriate methods according to established procedures.
Verify all items listed on the work order or sales ticket are loaded and delivered.
Must be a part of the overall Automann warehouse team.
Pass and report vehicle inspections while on route with cargo.
Maintains correct cargo security for various materials according to State Laws and Company standard operating procedures.
Additional duties as deemed necessary by management.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Federal Motor Carrier Safety Medical Card
Able to operate a forklift is ideal to assist with general warehouse work in addition to driving duties.
Must be able to use technology to solve problems like route optimization, keeping customer service informed of any issues that may impact client satisfaction, etc.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is helpful.
High attention to detail and quality, taking pride in delivering on time and following the rules – both on the road and at our customer’s facilities.
Highly reliable in terms of attendance and time-keeping
