The teacher will plan and deliver engaging history lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and grade-level standards, using a variety of instructional strategies to support different learning styles. Daily responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, leading classroom instruction, facilitating discussions, assigning and assessing student work, and providing timely feedback. The role also includes maintaining accurate records, communicating regularly with families and colleagues, and contributing to a positive, respectful classroom climate. The teacher will participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development activities, and may support extracurricular or advisory programs as needed.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p> </p><ul><li>Strong knowledge of middle school history and social studies content, including U.S. and world history appropriate for grades 6–8.</li><li>Demonstrated skills in classroom instruction, lesson planning, and student assessment.</li><li>Ability to manage a classroom effectively, foster student engagement, and support diverse learning needs.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.</li><li>Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field; state teaching certification or eligibility preferred.</li><li>Experience teaching middle school students or completing a relevant student teaching placement is highly beneficial.</li><li>Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration within a school community.</li><li>Comfort using educational technology, learning management systems, and digital resources to support instruction.</li></ul>
