<b>Job Description:</b><br/><br/>The Labour Relations Specialist provides expert, consultative labour relations support to leaders and Human Relations Business Partners across a complex, multi-union environment. As a key member of the Labour Relations Centre of Excellence, this role ensures labour relations practices are consistent, defensible, and aligned with The Salvation Army's Mission, Vision, and Values-supporting a credible, responsive, and values-driven people environment.<br/><br/><b>Key Accountabilities</b><br/><ul><li>Provide expert labour relations advice on grievances, investigations, discipline, performance management, and terminations</li><li>Conduct intake and triage of union and non-union complaints, including harassment and discrimination matters</li><li>Support consistent interpretation and application of collective agreements, legislation, and enterprise LR strategy</li><li>Manage and support grievance processes, including investigation preparation and resolution</li><li>Partner with HRBPs to assess risk, determine escalation pathways, and reinforce consistent practices</li><li>Coach and guide leaders on effective union-management practices and sound LR decision-making</li><li>Support mediation and arbitration preparation in collaboration with Labour Relations leadership and legal counsel</li><li>Contribute insights, trends, and emerging risks to inform COE strategy and enterprise alignment</li><li>Maintain thorough, defensible documentation and exercise sound professional judgment</li></ul><br/><br/><b>Skills & Experience</b><br/><ul><li>Minimum 5 years' progressive experience in labour relations or HR with a strong LR focus</li><li>Advanced knowledge of labour legislation, collective agreements, and union-management dynamics</li><li>Proven experience managing complex grievances, investigations, and sensitive casework</li><li>Strong risk assessment, documentation, and case management skills</li><li>Trusted advisor and coach to leaders and HR partners, with respect for role boundaries</li><li>Ability to translate complex labour relations issues into practical, actionable guidance</li><li>Effective collaborator within shared services or matrixed environments</li><li>Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and alignment with mission-driven values.</li></ul><br/><br/><b>Compensation: </b><br/>The target hiring range for this position is $85,321.60 to $106,641.60 with a maximum of $127,982.40.<br/>Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
