The BrickLink Designer Program (BDP) allows LEGO enthusiasts to submit their original designs to be voted on by the fan community with the winning designs brought to life as official sets. As a Fan Model Design Manager, you will be responsible for guiding the Fan Designer and their model through the LEGO Model Development process. Please submit your portfolio showcasing relevant design work, particularly examples related to building instruction booklets, instruction layout, and/ or model presentation
Responsibilities
Digital Design Expert in Studio and/or LDD, coordinating the development of Fan Designer models digitally to align with LEGO quality standards.
Physical building experience, both in MOC’s and LEGO system sets
Ownership of the entire product lifecycle from model design, quality control and building instructions to meet development deadlines.
Understanding of LEGO Design Guidelines, utilizing this knowledge to improve Fan Model development, packaging development and building instructions.
Communication amongst the BDP Design Team and our partners to collaborate and troubleshoot program activities.
Requirements
Strong 3D building experience in BrickLink Studio or LDD
Strong physical brick building experience with MOC’s
Strong experience producing or editing building instructions, with a sharp eye for layout, sequence, and user clarity
Strong experience with the LEGO element catalogue and building system
Adobe Creative Suite (preferably InDesign)
Ability to maintain high attention to detail while meeting deliverable deadlines
Previous experience working with or being part of the adult LEGO fan community
