About the position

Under the direction of the Manager of Facilities and reporting to the Facilities Superintendent, the Facilities and Grounds Worker I/II will perform a wide variety of skilled and unskilled landscaping and grounds maintenance functions. This role includes semi-skilled preventive maintenance and repair work at stations and facilities, ensuring that all areas are maintained at the highest level possible in terms of safety and cleanliness. The Facilities and Grounds Worker I position is considered entry-level within the Facilities and Grounds series. Initially, incumbents will work under supervision and/or direction, performing routine grounds and building maintenance, landscaping, clean-up, and unskilled manual work, as well as semi-skilled work across various craft areas. The Facilities and Grounds Worker II position is the second level within the Facilities and Grounds Worker series. Incumbents in this role are skilled in operating equipment, performing skilled landscaping maintenance and repairs, and executing tasks from various crafts with efficiency. This position will also contribute to the training and skill progression of Facilities and Grounds Worker I employees.
