Engineering Manager, Embedded Software

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Job Purpose/Summary</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt">The Engineering Manager, Embedded Software leads a team of embedded software engineers delivering firmware and hardware-integrated software for Knowmadics’ edge and sensing products. This role combines people leadership with technical depth to drive execution, quality, and team growth.</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Duties and Responsibilities</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Lead, manage, and grow a team of embedded software engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Own delivery of embedded software commitments across schedule, scope, and quality.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Provide technical guidance on embedded architecture, hardware/software integration, and engineering standards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Partner with Product and Program Management to plan releases and allocate capacity.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Remove blockers, manage risk, and coordinate cross-functional dependencies with hardware, RF, and integration teams.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Establish and improve engineering processes, CI/CD, and code-quality practices.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Conduct design and code reviews; ensure adherence to security and MOSA standards.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</span></li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Qualifications</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance – U.S. Citizenship required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">10+ years of embedded software experience, including 3+ years managing engineering teams.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Strong technical foundation in embedded C/C++, Linux/RTOS, and hardware/software integration.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Proven track record delivering embedded products through the full lifecycle.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Experience with engineering processes, agile delivery, and team capacity planning.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size: 12pt">Excellent leadership, communication, and mentorship skills.</span></li> </ul> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold">Working Conditions</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt">Employees may be called upon to participate in in-person meetings, trainings, or company functions at Knowmadics offices or other designated locations. Travel in support of business operations may also be required, and employees are expected to comply with these obligations as part of their position.</span></p> <p><br><br></p> <p><span style="font-size: 12pt">Should be willing to work in a variety of settings as needed.
