Our team designs, develops and maintains massively scaling technology solutions brought to life with innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions.Job overview and responsibilitiesThis Director – IT Application Development role will be responsible for supporting all HR & Employee systems inclusive of HR & Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Employee Travel, Compliance, Employee Time and Attendance as well as support for learning systems. It will include supporting the This leader will oversee the roadmap, delivery, budget, and operational metrics of United’s HR & Employee systems. It is critical that the individual in this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating level business leaders specifically in various functions as they are expected to be the key interface point of contact with the business.Develop a multi‑year application development strategy that aligns with HR’s related goals and vision, adapts strategy as technology and business needs evolveStay abreast of business strategy, goals, objectives, and operational performanceUnderstand and provide recommendations for improvement of Business Processes by applying existing IT capabilities, identifying improvements to existing IT capabilities, and defining new strategic IT capabilitiesAct as the point of contact and facilitate the work request demand and prioritization processAdvance, assist, and follow through on the resolution of issues related to the delivery of technology solutionsCommunicate strategy, goals, and measurable components to drive success and accountability across the organizationEstablish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating level business leaders to ensure effective delivery of business deliverables and technology solutionsEducate business partners on roles, responsibilities, processes, and work required to ensure effective delivery of new technology solutionsOversee and lead projects to ensure delivery of work requests and projects are within committed budget, on schedule, and the quality of individual projects meets the overall department performance goalsAligning with business partners on delivery success criteria and ensuring technology solutions follow architectural standardsProvide cost estimates and business case updatesIdentify needs, secure commitments and monitor progress of tasks from internal and external service provider teamsSuccessfully integrate project and program initiatives with other software applicationsRemaining informed of new technologies and/or business processes and incorporating those technologies to improve the productivity of the applications staff and software systems’ maintainabilityGuide teams in designing, building, testing, and deploying changes to existing softwareEnsure adherence to code scanning and other security protocols are adhered to during releasesOversee the application admin team assigned to financial applicationsEmpower, coach, and develop team membersEstablish department and individual’s goals including performance reviews and career and performance plansResponsible for developing and maintaining an overall sourcing plan which includes creative sourcing options and alternatives to ensure supply capacities meet work demand, role and skills required and cost objectivesAssess and recommend improvements to the organization structure, roles, and responsibilitiesQualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering or Business Administration8+ years of management experience in an IT or leadership related role focused on HR/corporate systems and process automationStrong project organization skills, including prioritization, planning and organizationStrong oral and written communication skillsExperience in management of remote teams across multiple locations, including offshore and third‑party service providersPrior experience in Workday implementation and supportExperience in process automation, ServiceNow and SaaS as well as large scale program management and operational excellenceMust be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorshipSuccessful completion of interview required to meet job qualificationReliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the positionWhat will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):Master’s degreeMaster of Science degree in Computer Science or Master of Business AdministrationExperience in application development, multiple major projects delivering of med‑large scale projects/programsPrior experience supporting Workday, employee time and attendance systems and guiding their technology strategy and cloud migration strategy.Experience with ServiceNow HR and other business aligned solutions outside of traditional incident and asset managementExperience in travel industry is a significant plusThe base pay range for this role is $175,750.00 to $228,818.00. The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job‑related, factors such as experience, education, and skills.
