Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deploy hardware-based automation solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency, equipment uptime, and process stability across SIP and SSD assembly/test operations
  • Lead end-to-end automation projects, including requirement gathering, feasibility studies, vendor selection, detailed design reviews, shipment and installation planning, qualification, and release-to-production
  • Integrate new equipment and subsystems into existing factory automation systems (e.g., SECS/GEM, E84, AMHS) with strong understanding of control logic, interlocks, and automation sequences to improve safety and throughput
  • Work closely with Equipment Engineering, Process Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing teams to identify automation opportunities and convert operational needs into technical specifications
  • Manage equipment upgrades, retrofits, and automation improvement initiatives for production systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation issues such as sensor failures, communication errors, and equipment interface problems
  • Ensure all automation designs and implementations comply with factory standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation including system architecture, wiring diagrams, test plans, and validation reports to support long-term system sustainability

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • Approximately 5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, or factory automation
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems including sensors, actuators, PLCs, motion control, robotics, and industrial communication protocols
  • Hands-on experience with SECS/GEM, E84, and semiconductor equipment integration standards
  • Familiarity with AMHS systems, material handling automation, or machine-to-machine communication
  • Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, vendor coordination, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Exposure to MES, factory control systems, or data acquisition platforms used in semiconductor environments
  • Experience working in cleanroom environments and understanding semiconductor safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of robotics integration, end-effectors, and automated handling systems
  • Strong mechanical design knowledge, especially for custom-built automation equipment
  • Experience in PC and/or PLC programming (Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi) or equipment control systems

  • Ability to manage multiple automation projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
