The successful candidate will provide strategic, academic, clinical, and administrative leadership for the department while overseeing the Radiation Oncology Residency Program in accordance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements.<br><br>The Department Chair and Residency Program Director will lead the department’s missions of patient care, education, research, and service. This individual will be responsible for advancing departmental growth, fostering a collaborative culture, supporting faculty and trainee development, ensuring program accreditation and compliance, and strengthening interdisciplinary partnerships across the UAMS College of Medicine, UAMS Health, and affiliated clinical sites.<h2><br><b>Qualifications:</b></h2><ul><li><p>M.D., D.O., or equivalent medical degree required.</p></li><li><p>Board-certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent.</p></li><li><p>Completion of an accredited Radiation Oncology residency program is required.</p></li><li><p>Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted medical license in the State of Arkansas.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrated leadership experience in academic medicine, graduate medical education, or clinical operations.</p></li><li><p>Eligibility for appointments will be set at the rank of Associate Professor or as determined by the College of Medicine P&T committee.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><u>Preferred Qualifications</u></b></p><ul><li><p>Prior experience serving in a leadership role such as Residency Program Director, Associate Program Director, initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across departments, institutes, and affiliated hospitals.</p></li><li><p>Provide comprehensive Radiation Oncology patient care in inpatient and outpatient settings.</p></li><li><p>Maintain high standards for patient safety, quality, and clinical outcomes.</p></li><li><p>Support the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and quality metrics.</p></li><li><p>Participate in departmental call coverage and clinical service responsibilities as assigned.</p></li><li><p>Promote evidence-based practice and innovative treatment approaches.</p></li><li><p>Serve as ACGME Residency Program Director for the Radiation Oncology Residency Program.</p></li><li><p>Ensure continued program accreditation and compliance with all ACGME requirements and institutional policies.</p></li><li><p>Oversee resident recruitment, onboarding, evaluation, mentorship, and professional development.</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain educational curriculum, clinical rotations, didactic programming, and scholarly activity opportunities.</p></li><li><p>Foster a positive educational environment that supports resident wellness, professionalism, and academic achievement.</p></li><li><p>Collaborate with the UAMS Graduate Medical Education Office on residency program initiatives and accreditation activities.</p></li><li><p>Support and promote clinical, translational, and/or basic science research initiatives within the department.</p></li><li><p>Encourage faculty and resident scholarly activity, publications, and grant development.</p></li><li><p>Participate in medical student, resident, and fellow education.</p></li><li><p>Maintain academic productivity consistent with faculty rank
