Job Summary

The AML Analyst is responsible for reviewing and investigating Anti-Money Laundering (AML) alerts generated through FCRM systems. The role involves identifying potential financial crime risks, conducting customer and transaction analysis, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with AML regulations such as BSA and OFAC. The analyst will determine whether alerts can be closed or require escalation for further investigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze AML alerts generated in FCRM, identifying potential red flags such as structuring, high-risk/high-volume transactions, and changes in customer behavior.
  • Review alerted transactions along with 30 days of historical account activity to assess legitimacy and consistency with expected customer behavior.
  • Perform customer profile checks to validate customer information against existing records and expected activity patterns.
  • Conduct basic investigations using internal systems and approved external data sources to assess transaction risk and parties involved.
  • Determine appropriate alert disposition, including:
  • Closing alerts as non-suspicious with no further action recommended
  • Escalating alerts to higher-level investigators for more in-depth review
  • Document findings, analysis, and rationale for decisions in the required FCRM documentation format.
  • Ensure all reviews and decisions comply with AML policies, regulatory requirements, and internal procedures.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Basic understanding of AML regulations, including:
  • Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • OFAC sanctions
  • Other relevant AML laws and guidelines
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and risk indicators.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing transactions and documenting findings.
  • Basic investigative skills, including gathering and assessing information from multiple sources.
  • Foundational knowledge of financial products and services, customer profiles, and transaction types.
  • Ability to clearly document findings and recommendations with detailed rationale.
